Connect with Kathryn:

Kathryn Koerner is a consultant with SchoolWorks. She is an experienced high school English and reading teacher and has taught all secondary grade and ability levels, from remedial reading to International Baccalaureate English. Kathryn held multiple leadership positions in addition to her teaching assignments. As English Department Head, she acted as a liaison between administration and teachers, supported instructional goals, and ensured the equitable distribution of resources. In addition, Kathryn served on the Design Team – a leadership committee responsible for making and executing strategic school decisions, such as the implementation of professional learning communities and the facilitation of school-wide professional development. Kathryn transitioned from teacher to curriculum writer for the Virginia Department of Education. In addition to developing, writing, and revising courses, she authored case studies and teaching guides. Kathryn holds a B.A. in English and Linguistics from Northeastern University.
