Nina Samuelson is a Leadership Consultant with SchoolWorks. She has worked in K-12 public education in various capacities – most recently with Excel Academy Charter Schools, a charter network serving students in East Boston and Chelsea, Massachusetts.
Nina has held several leadership roles at Excel, including leading school operations at Excel Academy East Boston, the flagship middle school campus, and serving at Head of School at the Excel Academy Orient Heights/Greenway middle school campus. In her capacity as Head of School, Nina set and executed a student-centered academic vision and strategy for the school, while working in collaboration with peer schools to drive a comprehensive, rigorous, and inclusive 5-12 program.
Prior to joining the Excel team, Nina worked as a teacher and teacher leader with the New York City Public Schools. She is a certified secondary English teacher and served as a high school English Department Head. Nina is a Teach For America alum, holds a Master of Science in Education from Lehman College of the Bronx, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Princeton University.
