Michelle Doane is a consultant and project manager with SchoolWorks. She has served in multiple capacities in the educational environment and has worked closely with a variety of clients including foundations, state departments of educations, charter school authorizers, and both traditional district and charter schools. In her role with SchoolWorks, her clients have included Indiana Department of Education, Louisiana Department of Education, Maryland State Department of Education, Minnesota Department of Education, and Ohio Department of Education.

In her previous work with the Nashville Symphony, she led the creation and implementation of a music education program in select schools in Metro Nashville Public Schools. Additionally, during her time at the Tennessee Charter School Center, she supported charter schools across the state, and managed leadership fellowships for experienced education leaders to undergo leadership development and develop charter school models to be approved in Nashville and Memphis. Every fellow under her direction was authorized to open their charter school; some have gone on to expand and open additional schools. Michelle holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree from Eastman School of Music, a Master’s of Music degree from the University of Michigan, and a Master’s of Education degree in Language and Instruction from Vanderbilt University.
