Matthew King

Matthew King is a consultant with SchoolWorks. He is an educational change leader with 17 years of successful leadership, and academic, operational, and turnaround experience. His relentless focus on improving student achievement and college graduation rates led to his role as a co-founder of both EPIC Academy High School and OneGoal – top-tier educational organizations serving the most challenged communities that significantly outperform comparison nonprofits. His combination of positive energy, listening to feedback, results-orientation, belief in building teams, and work ethic have led to growth and success in his pursuits. Most notably, he most recently guided EPIC Academy from Chicago Public Schools’ warning-to-close list to a Level 1+ rating – the highest performance evaluation a school can earn. EPIC Academy achieved this rating by raising ACT Scores (16.1 to 18.1), ranking 14^th of the 132 Chicago district high schools in ACT achievement growth, increasing the number of students earning college credit as seniors (0% to 34%), and raising college enrollment (51% to 80%) and college scholarships ($1.9M to $8M). Matthew holds a B.A. from Miami University, an M.Ed. from Texas A&M, and an M.Ed. in Administration & Supervision from National Louis University via New Leaders
